Captain's Sea Cabin

Positioned immediately aft of the Pilot House and forward of the Combat Information Center (CIC) is the Captain's Sea Cabin where the Commanding Officer would rest and sleep when the ship was underway. Since the Captain was always ultimately responsible for the safety of the vessel, he needed to be very close to the Pilot House should an emergency arise. A basic desk, wardrobe, small head (bathroom), and a transom (bed that also converted into a couch) was located in this space as well as phones and a voicetube connected directly to the Pilot House.
