Positioned immediately aft of the Wardroom and forward of the galley is the Wardroom Pantry. Unlike the regular enlisted sailors who had their meals prepared in the ship's galley and given to them as part of their benefits, officer's had to contribute on a monthly basis to a food pool. Meals were cooked separately in the Wardroom Pantry and served to the officer's via Stewards. Along with preparing meals for the officers, stewards had to keep coffee hot and ready at all times.
This space had a warmer, toaster, small Edison oven with griddle top, General Electric refrigerator, and storage for fine china.
