Through major negotiations and efforts with the US Navy, the USS Thorn DD647 Association was granted permission to have their 1972 reunion aboard their ship within the Philadelphia Inactive Fleet. During the subsequent years up to 1974, the Thorn Association took numerous photographs of DD647 and preserved them for the future. This is the only set of "modern" photographs known to exist of the interior spaces of a Benson-Gleaves class Destroyer. These images are copyright and may not be utlized on any other website or material without written permission from this website.
